Fun at the airport for a stitcher

airportsecuirtyI am hoping I am not the only person who this has happened to.

This morning I had a 6.30am fight down to Melbourne for a class this weekend.

I got up at 4.30, and made my beautiful hubby get up early as well.  As I was running out the door, without thinking, I grabbed my “kit” of my stitching essentials, and shoved it into my luggage.  Didn’t think another thing of it until I got pulled over for a search.  The airport security guy found a pair of scissors in my case.  He went through, pulled them out, and I had to chuck them.  Again he checked the bag, only to see another pair.  In the end I had accidently packed 3 pair of squeeze scissors, and my de-nester blade (like a scalpel).

I need to think more clearly when I pack my sewing tools.  Because I don’t use them for nefarious means, doesn’t mean others would not.

I absolutely respect the people at airport security, and I encourage people to learn from my mistakes, and avoid chucking away more than $40 worth of tools.

Until next time, have a Stitchin’ day.  Julie
